Welcome to the 2017 Horror Icons tournament, Every few years I try to do this in October because I've spent my life loving horror and well, what better time to do these during the Halloween season.

Rules:

1. You can vote in as many of the daily matches as you want.
2. Matches will last 24 hours and will usually start around midnight EST. I may start a day earlier if work interferes with my sleep, but matches will still last 24 hours.
3. Ties will be broken the the next day with a bonus tiebreaker match. If the match is still a tie after the first tiebreaker, we will do a third match which I will abstain from and only vote if the results end in a third tie.

The final division is underway and in our first match we have Pennywise taking on the Batter. Will the success of the new film make Pennywise even stronger then he has been in the past or is the Batter going to take him down early. Pennywise made it to the elite 8 before losing to the Wolfman in 2012, and made it to the Final four in 2014 before Freddy took him down. Our 8/9 match is going to be a good one. The Alien hunter hasn't done too well in the past. Beating Cujo in '12, he was taking out by Dracula in the second round. In '14 he ran into another classic Universal Monster and was booted in round one by the Frankenstien Monster, though it did go to a tiebreak. This year he's facing a man so iconic to hero he has multiple characters in tournament. Can the Predator take down the legendary writer or will King prove the pen is stronger then the shoulder mounted laser cannon. Our third match has two characters debuiting despite being nominated in the past. Jack Skellington is taking on the every man that is John Nada. Can Jack last a ten minute ally fight with the Hot Rod, or will Nada go on to chew bubblegum and crush the Pumpkin King. And wrapping up the matches is one of the most iconic zombies of the 1980s taking on the man who gave us the modern day zombie. Will the Tar Man get his Braaiiiins or does George Romero have the answer to take down the oozing beast.
