Thats the thing... these American soldiers did volunteer for whatever their reasons. US military is an all-volunteer military force. A military enlistment contract is at least 8 years for service to the country, an 8yr obligation. Thats 4 years active service, 4 years inactive service or 6 yrs active, 2 inactive. When active duty re-enlist, its to volunteer another term and commitment to their service to the country.

So what this means is the person enlisting or commissioned volunteers so the country wont make military service mandatory for its citizens. Remember, active duty and reserves. This is part of a total force concept. Reserves will augment active duty personnel in times when its required. These military members all volunteer their time and efforts so another can live their lives the way they want. This sacrifice for the fellow American is something thats both recognized and honored. a casualty in the battlefield was done so your fellow American, loved ones, sons, and daughters didnt have to fight in war.

Our foreign policy was always for the safety and safeguard of the citizens and country, then also by extention its allies. Thats why our military is all over the world. You ask why are our military is beloved. An American soldier died in the past present and future for you.
