At that point the cop had no choice but to confront him at that very close distance. They were driving on a snowy road/grass in the winter. There was no reason for them to be driving that close to him if they thought he was legitimately armed. If the car skidded it should have been from 100 feet away, not from 5 feet away. --- ...
