Those are the terms being set. There's no discussion in these situations, and gradually over time when these interactions are played out and more people choose 'highway' you'll end up with two separate boards. The toddlers set the terms. Sane people pick the highway. Every time I encounter that from now on I'm picking the highway. The beauty of that is it ends up in a complete wash of a discussion, so whoever had more ground at the beginning maintains it when it's apparent there's no discussion to be had.
