Topic	I hope that if North Korea uses a Nuke, it doesn't use it on Japan or California

My coworker and I briefly talked about this. He said we just recently sent in a bunch of new equipment to augment South Korea's defense. I wasn't sure if he meant the THAAD weapon system or something else but when I asked if said defenses can stop artillery shells he said yes. I'm not that savvy when it comes to military weapons but conventional artillery are just explosive shells, aren't they?
