On a scale 1 being a few zits and 10 being covered in that shit, I'm at maybe a 2 - 2.5. I can fluctuate from a 1 to a 3 though. It's not bad enough for accutane but goddamn do I want it gone still
Just go to the doctor.
You'll most likely be prescribed minocycline, a pill you need to take with 8 floz of water twice daily. If you're like me and forget to take it every morning and only take it once a day, they'll switch you to tazorac cream, which not only dries the fuck out of your face but also burns the fuck out of your face
Then they'll suggest accutane if none of that works
They don't like to suggest it right away because so much can go wrong with it and they don't wanna risk getting in trouble.
I definitely needed it though. I had horrible cystic acne on my face, neck, chest, and back.
Then the accutane purged my skin so all the zits and cysts that were forming underneath were fast tracked to the surface to hang out with all their buddies that were already on the surface. I couldn't smile without feeling pain because they were like right on the parts of my face that moved when I smiled and the skin there would tighten and occasionally make one pop. Yes, laughing at a joke would literally make pus and blood run down my face.
After the first month though I was mostly cleared up.
Also one side effect I forgot to mention earlier was extreme sensitivity to sunlight. I mean extreme. I checked the mail once and got sunburnt from it. I was outside for MAYBE 45 seconds.
