And I do agree that probably the vast majority of gamers would have rather had hard mode than easy I would've loved to see a hard mode in several JRPGs. Final Fantasy X in particular; I mean sure, there's challenge runs, but that isn't quite the same as having enemies prepared to deal with the full arsenal* of what you can throw at them.
