There's stuff that silly about it and hasn't aged well but Peter feeling so bogged down and unable to live a life of his own because he's Spiderman is something that hits harder when you're an adult. Felt like Spider-man 2 was a lesson in selfishness. Peter constantly putting others before himself was taking a huge toll on him and making him terrible at being both Peter Parker and Spider-man.
