Their success or point in their life doesn't determine my treatment of them. In my experience, the higher level c-level people often appreciate this treatment instead of acting like you're walking on egg shells around them. At one point, the head of a division within the army had me as his go to tech person when he submitted a ticket because I just treated him like any other dude.
