I'm guessing it will be another Mario Movie situation:

people as of now we go into doom and gloom mode

then we'll get a casting list and people will go into maximum meme mode over it

then we'll get the first trailer and it won't completely suck ass and everyone will be like "OH WAIT THIS MIGHT BE AMAZING OH SHIT"

Then the movie will come out and the reactions will range from "eh, It was okay" to "it was neat for a Zelda adaptation" to "REEEEEEEEE FILM IS DEAD"

This. But really I actually think live action could be a good medium for Zelda. I'd definitely prefer animation, but well there are many well done live action fantasy movies, so this can be done.
