People say Like a Dragon (AKA 7) is a good starting point too and I guess I sorta agree since it stars a new cast. But I think some of the old cast does show up from time to time, so there may be spoilers, direct or indirect, for past games involving the old cast. Plus I personally REALLY didn't like the RPG mechanics in LAD/7 which is... weird. Because I LOVE RPGs and I LOVE Yakuza. It was a literal match made in heaven and they somehow fucked it up.
