TopicWhat's the easiest way to permanently living in Japan

The easiest is to marry a Japanese person obviously. I married a Chinese person though. I got permanent residency by having a PhD, certification of Japanese language ability, decent job, etc. It uses a point system. It's actually quite a bit easier than getting a US green card.

Also the people who go on about work culture, xenophobia, or whatever other meme have obviously never lived here. Yep you can find bad jobs and there are racists, but at the end of the day Americans work more hours on average by OECD data and you are way more likely to be the victim of a hate crime in America (or even just killed by a cop). Japan isn't whatever stereotype you have about it and it isn't perfect. But having lived in America, Japan, and China, it's easily the best out of all 3, and my Chinese wife and her family feels the same way.

Lot of people worry about nonsense shit that doesn't matter instead of healthcare, quality of life, environment, safety, etc. I don't give a fuck about getting microaggressioned as a foreigner because it beats being randomly attacked because of your race or just straight up murdered by a cop or a random shooter or whatever else. I swear a lot of Americans are stuck in some kind of reality warp were they ignore the insanity going on around them.
