It definitely felt like a Master Sword situation. Idk if the Japanese version sounded less decisive, but the way Leon & co talked about it in English sounded like it was the one and only Keyblade. It didn't choose him though. He accidentally stole it from Riku when he choose darkness. Riku was always meant to wield it. That's why it went back to him at Hollow Bastion.
