It's honestly not. Russia is obviously the aggressor and to be condemned fully and Ukraine defending their nation is their duty and right, but there is a lot to be said regarding the expansion of Western imperial powers through the growth of NATO as a direct result of the conflict.

That might be secondary to the conflict itself, but it's near impossible to separate it at this point.

NATO is zero threat to Russia when Russia isn't actively invading sovereign nations. The growth of NATO being so near to Russia is a conventional war problem. Any war that truly threatens Russia's existence would not be a conventional war. The US alone has nuclear subs deployed with enough nukes to end Russia forever, and they don't have borders. None of that would ever come to pass without Russia becoming a rogue nation.
