Topic	Characters using idioms that make no sense within the setting

In Tales of Arise, a character named Zephyr says "we have an ace up our sleeve" several times despite the fact that playing cards do not exist, I was going to mention the same idiom, except for Xenoblade 3. Noah says it at one point, but seeing as he and his party members are child soldiers raised specifically to fight in an endless war for no real reason, I find it hard to believe that they would have ever had a chance to play cards if playing cards even exist in Aionios outside of the City.
