That's what was running through my mind the entire time reading it. Like the dude who was in the military with him in the early 2000s. Like, yeah he probably WAS like that back then. But just getting beat over the head more and more and more and more with right wing propaganda to the point where your commander and chief is telling you there is an attack coming from within the country by these specific type people and they're trying to take the country away from YOU can really fuck with people who were essentially bread to believe what their superiors told them.
