Like every Mario Kart that isn't Double Dash, there's little practical reason for Nintendo to remaster a specific Smash game, & Nintendo has never directly put any Gamecube game on their digital services, so far; the Wii U eShop had Wii games, but still no GC. If it's not going to be the switch, then the switch 2 would be the time to release GameCube games. If Nintendo wants to offset by a couple generations, that's fine, but they'll have to do it eventually.
