Ah, I've heard this one before... a thousand times before. Like when the usual suspects said it about X-Men comics, of all things. X-Men, which has always been overtly political... but certain people realized the X-Men can/are meant to represent the people that they hate, then they suddenly took notice of the politics and it became a problem.

And they also started talking about politics like they'd shown up in these comics overnight as opposed to being there from day one.

Same applies to the people who said Quantum Leap and Star Trek have "gone" woke/political. Place astronaut meme here.
