The current management cant be worse than CJayC, right? CJayC was extremely, extremely conservative (resistant to change.) While Web 2.0 was developing, he actively resisted any improvement or modernization to the site that would take it out of the Stone Age. He insisted FAQs be written in ASCII & keeping the message boards entirely text-based. Even now, the site has failed to keep up with the times, which is why its been eclipsed by YouTube, Twitch, IGN wikis, etc., and even AAA blockbuster games are getting zero FAQ submissions.

He also had a long list of rules and enforced them with an iron fist, such as moderating users for minor (PG13 level) swearing, disruptive ASCII art, and a whole laundry list of violations that have since then been relaxed. I wonder how hes doing now in his 50s. If he raised a family, his rule book for his kids must be an encyclopedias length.
