As obnoxious as the Freedom Caucus is, even they didn't just outright refuse to talk to McCarthy forever. That the moderates are just going "lolno" to talking to the frontrunner for the Speakership (even considering the fact that it's a clown like Jim Jordan) is gonna provoke similar behavior from rivals and make it literally impossible for the party to choose a Speaker.
