There weren't that many bug moves period. Leech Life, Twin Needle, Pin Missile, none of which were powerful.
And none of them had good distribution. Didn't get decent distribution on a move until Fury Cutter.

Pin Missile on Jolteon was fun though. High crit chance and "if one crits they all do" thanks to gen 1's weirdness.

@Arcanine2009 Speaking of type weirdness, dark and ghost should have always been physical and special respectively instead of the other way around. Ghost is meant to resemble shadow magic, while dark just means underhanded tactics. Bite, Sucker Punch, Thief, etc. all make sense to be dark. Dark Pulse though? That's what Shadow Ball is supposed to be. Coupled with the stat distribution for most ghosts, it's almost like ghost was going to be special at first, only to be changed at the last minute.
