If you like, but it's also true that there are Democratic voters opposed to immigration. Really? Yes, there are a non-zero number of democrats that are "opposed to immigration" but not all opposition to immigration is the same, is it? I do believe in a secure border, but also that we should provide asylum for those fleeing desperate situations, and that if we want to eliminate a root cause of illegal border crossings we should go after companies that exploit foreign labor and force them to pay American workers a decent wage. Yeah, democrats believe in solving the problems that cause waves of immigration, republicans want to punish the poorest and most desperate.
