This is just like Bill Maher's awful take on Hasan Minhaj being comparable to Trump... this need to make a both sides where the sides are so lopsided no reasonable person without an agenda to force a both sides narrative can make a valid comparison.

Got to find those outliers and grant them far more power and widespread support than they ever had. In a sense, it's the people claiming to believe in horseshit theory doing most of the signal boosting for these extreme fringe cases.

Not to mention the condemnation culture that the left seems uniquely saddled with... yet somehow we can't bother to expect the right wing to jump through those hoops before giving their unapologetic racist, misogynist, homophobic, transphobic, or pro-genocidal takes.
