Phase 4 was all about introducing a bunch of new characters. You got some really good movies, but also some of MCU's worst movies as well (Thor Love and Thunder, dear god did they missed the mark so hard on it) with many of the movies being fairly mediocre. Sure Phase 1 and 2 was similar, but it felt like there was at least a pay off for everything. The payoff for Phase 4 was suppose to be Kang the Conqueror and Quantumania happened and...yeah he's a fucking joke in that movie. No different than any of the throwaway villains they had in Phase 1 and 2. The movie over and over again tells you to fear Kang and how much of a badass he is, but not once did I ever felt he was dangerous, never delivering. Majors did his best with what he had, and I'm glad they didn't have him be a pun/quip machine, like Ultron was, but my god did they do his character dirty.

I definitely don't know why they chose Kang as the villain for an Ant-Man movie. It should have just been MODOK, with the stinger revealing that he was working for Kang. That way, an Ant-Man movie doesn't have to do the heavy-lifting for an entire saga of Marvel movies.

And the Council of Kangs is something we shouldn't have even seen until this saga's equivalent of Infinity War.
