I desperately wish they had an ad-free tier but piecemealing features across tiers is not the SaaS way. No, everyone just pays for the same services regardless of how many of them are appealing and they just crank the cost of that irrespective of what raising the price actually represents to the value proposition.

The idea of weighing whether or not something is "worth the price" in the consumer space is dying because companies are just starting to settle on "buy it or don't," as a sales model. What you want out of the product for the price they ask doesn't matter anymore because you have to buy it all or not at all. No one cares anymore if people are happy with what they're being sold because everything is in a single bundle that everyone pays for, meaning you get what you want but settle into a constant simmering disgruntledness over being charged increasing amounts for stuff you never use.
