When Remake came out I had a habit of watching people's playthroughs for certain parts of the game and the entire Zack sequence is friggin massive. If you played the game you know who that is and the enormity of his apparently surviving. People who never played the original game were just confused on what was going on that whole time and couldn't appreciate what the game was showing us there and setting up.Between that and the fact the story revolves around plot ghosts trying to force the original game's plot, the glimpses of the future the game shows you, I just couldn't imagine playing remake without the original... but that's just me!
