There's an episode in season two or three where the parents go to watch Didi while she's on a gameshow, and when they finally notice that the babies are missing, Betty says something to the effect of "Oh no, not again!"... which shows that they realize their kids frequently go missing, but they STILL make no effort to keep a closer eye on them.

I think Betty is the only self aware parent, but comes off as a "tough love" kind of parent. She's also the only one who calls out Didi on her Lipshitz bs. The others I do believe are genuinely dense. Although in fairness to Chaz, Chucky is a good kid, and wouldn't even put himself in danger if Tommy didn't coax him into it, and Angelica didn't bully him into it.
