Maher has always given awful people a platform. Ann Coulter has been a guest since the PI days, he supports PETA and its <redacted> founder, he gave the worst of the New Atheist cockroaches a voice and still agrees with just about every vile thing Dawkins and Harris say. He only challenged Milo when Milo badmouthed Lena Dunham (which is ironic because Milo is just like her in many ways.) Maher has always had a problem with realizing that just because he agrees with somebody on something, that doesn't make their extreme takes correct. I think over time Maher went from, being a pretty standard lib-democrat who was outspoken as an atheist, to being a right wing curmudgeon more because he was seduced by the wealth and status existing in their proximity. This seems to happen a lot in mainstream media too. The amount of wealth floating around the right wing activist and political grift-o-verse is overwhelming compared to the left and has tempted many to crossover to the dark side. --- Be careful: I was moderated for telling people not to commit illegal acts of assault and murder.
