Cloud loses one point for the sheer ridiculous disparity between sword size and body type, even after he bulked up somewhat. Also because of Smash 4 salt.

Locke, it's cool that he made it to NT but I just dont vibe with any of 6's characters at all. His whole motivation of not knowing how to let go of his love (to creepy lengths) tanked him; I'm usually a fan of thief types.

Lightning, I feel a huge disconnect between motivation and execution of her story arch. She isnt as aggressively bad as some people in 13, but she's bottom half for party likeability.

Vivi would be a perfect 10 if he weren't a slow mage in a game where speedy hits are king (and one that didn't wind up killing his whole party if confused.) Visual designwise is the best character of the whole party, and an awesome callback to classic BLM.

Vanille loses one point for falling into the classic FF personality trap of "they're playing up being the zany fish out of water" but reading into the backstory and the whole pollyanna hide-the-severe-depression she has going on in the story - plus her role in a former calamity - made me like her a whole lot more than designated female Cloudsquall decking Snow again. Also loses a quarter point for a dumb weapon, but her role in leveling and endgame both made her my most used character when I got the option to.

Vaan is a cardboard cutout in a game with plenty of political intrigue to spare and falls flat as a result. His visual design is extremely dumb, too.
