He did his best to try to keep Sasuke around, to help him through his pain, to talk to him about it, but Sasuke was playing against unfair odds--both Orochimaru and Itachi had a vested interest in making him stronger (for different reasons) and Naruto was growing quickly enough to hurt Sasuke's pride. There were a lot of factors that went into Sasuke's betrayal, but Kakashi teaching him Chidori had nothing to do with it. That'd be like saying "don't teach Naruto the Rasengan because he has the nine tails in him and might go crazy" --- (He/Him) I write Naruto Fanfiction.
