Fillmore at least is known for having been the last Whig Party POTUS and the last POTUS to have not been a Democrat or a Republican while in office (he later joined the Democrats, but only after he was out of office), and he's popularly (though wrongly; H.L. Mencken made the whole thing up) believed to have been the first POTUS with a running-water bathtub. Plus, he's the one who sent Matthew Perry out to forcibly open up Japan, although Fillmore was out of office by the time Perry got there.
