Didn't get as much listening done last night as I wanted. The call of Minecraft videos was too strong.

I have absolutely no idea going in if I'm going to like Dream Sweet in Sea Major or hate it! This is definitely a dream-like piece, huh? Some intentional faux-retro vocal stylings making me wonder where and when the fuck I am. I can't imagine myself wanting to throw this one up for easy listening often, but I had to save it if only for how interesting it is.

K-pop can be a hit or a miss, but I think it is more that the fanbase scares me lol. People who approach it like any other musical genre (like rwlh right here) has told me more about this music than the loud members of the fanbase ... Anyway, let's see what Wish has in store ... Ooh I like this. I was worried that little "everything's gonna be alright"(?) line would turn into a rap verse, and then I was immediately disappointed to learn that the song was over already lol

Yooo Gyroscope is really fucking cool. Can't make out the voices in the back, which ... kind of makes this creepy? Are they actually voices??? Oh, it's counting. Yeah, that makes sense. I can see this being part of a score for a horror movie or game. It's almost spooky month y'all! I fucking love the spooky. This is definitely a standout to me.

I don't dislike Heirloom, but it definitely caught my attention more before she started singing. Bjork is interesting to me. I'm kind of surprised by how popular she, considering how unique she is. But maybe it's just that uniqueness that draws people to her? I personally like how well her voice works with the rest of the music.

I'm a nut for stage musicals, but Jesus Christ Superstar doesn't really rank high for me. It's not even like a religious thing, I've started to feel that even after distancing from my faith. And it isn't necessary an ALW thing either, because I think PotO fucks. Or maybe it is, because PotO is the only thing of his I do like ... That being said, I do think JCS still has some bangers, and Simon Zealotes / Poor Jerusalem is a fun one. I like the decision to weave the musical in our modern ideals of what "Christian music" is. Pretty decent.

Didn't expect to reveal so much skulltrumpets lore today, but it is what it is. Gyroscope is probably my favourite this set, but Wish was the most surprising winner. I think I'm going to listen to both these albums eventually (albeit at my own pace bc I share rwlh's struggle with listening to whole albums at once lol)
