You could never take the vmu out of the controller and use it like a memory card yet the batteries will still drain. At the same time the vmu will still function as a memory card with the batteries dead so it doesn't make sense. Is the vmu the go to thing people complain about? I always thought it was the controller which is something that's never bothered me.
