What these people teach kids:

It was okay for me, but I want to feel important, so you don't get to do it. And if you resent me for it, I can just say the Lord made me do it and act like I'm blameless for my own actions.

We suddenly care about God's laws when it comes to stuff like gays getting married and kids having fun, don't have much to say about how society abuses the poor and worships the rich, though.

Don't ask me to explain why something's evil. I said it is and that settles it. This includes asking me about the book, chapter, and verse about my claims on what the Bible says---that's backtalk and I won't have it.

Yes, this also includes asking me to explain why a SpongeBob costume is witchcraft,,, IT JUST IS. Stop giving me a hard time! I'm about to cry here... my feelings are sensitive and it means a lot to me to be able to ruin your childhood.

We aren't a family that's concerned with fitting in and doing what everyone else is doing---except for when it comes to smug fundamentalists who like to make a big show of how Halloween is banned in their house so that the whole neighborhood knows how holy they are. It IS important to toe the line sometimes.

TL;DR-----It's okay to be an asshole if you put a veneer of righteousness on what you're doing.
