Madarame was personal to Yusuke, but I wasn't invested in his character yet so my interest was at its lowest point during his palace. I thought the setup for the Kaneshiro arc was pretty strong, or at least more interesting than Madarame. The pay off was a bit of a letdown though. Madarame at least had the reveal about Yusuke's mom during the showdown, so that's a point in his favor as a villain.

Medjed is an afterthought for palace 4 imo, the real stakes are with futaba. Her palace was a high point to me because it felt the most like a P4 awakening. She's my favorite character in P5 by a lot.

Yeah thats fair. Im a little biased because Madarames palace theme is my favorite by far. And I agree that the real purpose of Futabas place is her awakening, but the hacker group. wasnt an interesting plot point to get to her palace for me.
