Because bugs can get tired and Venus Flytraps seal themselves shut once their prey touches their trigger hairs after the traps close. For those pitcher plants, the inside of the bell is very slippery and there's a pool of liquid at the bottom. When insects crawl inside they slip and get soaked, they're too heavy to fly because they're all wet, and the walls are tok slippery to climb out of. So they just end up drowning.

Huh that makes a lot of sense. Kinda sounds terrifying too, but screw wasps anyhoo
