Am I evil for being annoyed at the continued prioritization of yearly mourning for 9/11 victims while no one gives a single shit about the 1.2M (possibly more) who perished to COVID? We had points in time where there were 4k deaths daily for weeks. Those people didn't have to die. They could've been alive if it weren't for criminal negligence.

So many people died that the country's life expectancy literally went down. They've all been completely forgotten. Reduced to a number on a daily count. They all had families. No one ever mourns those people, except for their own families. Yet we still get yearly moments of silence for the 9/11 victims. When are we going to get a moment of silence for the 1.2M Americans that were killed by the virus?

Edit: And just to be clear, I'm not downplaying the 9/11 victims. I just don't like the fact that while COVID won't be forgotten, its victims were already forgotten in a day. You could even say they weren't forgotten at all because no one ever had them in mind to forget them.
