Infact the whole spirit of Jesus is that he refused to be a ruler of a physical kingdom Pilate asked "are you a king?" and he said "My kingdom is not of the world, if it were my servants would fight." I think many Christians just read the bible and never try to understand it contextually or otherwise. The whole thing going on in the New Testament was that his disciples thought he was gonna overthrow Rome and bring a new golden age of Jerusalem superiority like they had in the ancient days of David and Solomon. This is infact a huge motivator in why Judas decided to betray him cause he realized Jesus wasn't gonna do this and he wouldn't get rich. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
