Was anyone actually taken in by this? At the time, no. There was sooo much media hype around the release of the movie, it was the summer after Batman 1989, and the hype was off the charts... hit Guns and Roses song, behind the scenes specials, interviews on Entertainment Tonight and the Tonight Show, MTV guest spots, promotional tie-ins...
