Homophobia and transphobia should be viewed no differently than white supremacy.

You need to personally find a trans person who is suffering in a Christian family in the south and tell them all about how trans is a fad and both sides are wrong. Maybe some perspective would help you grow a fucking heart.

I think the big issue most people have with it is the stuff involving kids. :v Up till recently, it was unheard of for kids to be put on puberty blockers and hormones and stuff like that. Trans people have always had to wait for adulthood and then taken the steps to transition. We don't let kids drive till their sixteen or drink till they're 21. So the idea of letting them decide to put the breaks on puberty because of how they identify is going to sound crazy to most people. It's an alienating issue for even otherwise liberal people.

Like, if a 14 year old girl decides she wants a baby the sensible thing isn't to tell them to go do it.
