While DMC2 is a fairly good example, that game's development is fascinating and it led to Itsuno demanding that he get a chance to make DMC3 so he wasn't known as the guy who made DMC2 so that's at least some good that came out of it.

And we also still don't know who the original director of it was before they booted them and brought Itsuno on to shove the thing out the door in six months, during which most of the work on the game was done.
