And we already know there's a radical disparity in how police approach POC. And how they treat a POC once they're in an encounter with them.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the culture of racism in policing played a part in the calculus of, "Yes, let's run that suspect down. It's definitely an acceptable if not excellent way to de-escalate the situation."

I can't claim the officer did it deliberately, as if they enjoyed the opportunity. But I would put good money down that the unconscious institutional bias that's beat into officers played a role in what happened to that woman.
