Linus was being a adult when he didn't fire Colton immediately and understood that it was a mistake and that Colton owned up to him.

He's gone on to do more good work and let the past mistakes be water under a bridge.

Nah he is shifting blame. As a good boss, you take the blame publicly and talk to the person in private and fix the issues. Also he should be letting the CEO talk first before mouthing off. Thats the CEOs job.
