Topic | Do you have much hope for the future of your career? |
rexcrk 08/12/23 12:19:35 PM #21: | I honestly dont. The thing is, for as long as I can remember, Ive never had an idea what I want to do for an actual career. I dont regret living like that, because I dont define myself by my job. The problem is, it doesnt seem like the world is set up for anyone to be successful like this. I always just figured that Id be able to get by just doing full time work. And dont get me wrong, I am living comfortably enough, but I could definitely use more money. The thing is, you always hear its never too late! but.. is that true? Im in my mid-30s and dont have any skills (at least, nothing that makes me really stand out) so I cant really be starting at the bottom of some low-paying job with the intention of working my way up. And I dont really have the time to learn something that wont lead to a well-paying job right off the bat. Its like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have no real direction. And my only career goals are nonsense like I dont want to base my life around my job, I want to work close to home, I dont want to work late shifts, I want holidays off, I dont want to be stuck at a desk but also cant really do heavily labor intensive jobs so its like wtf am I supposed to do? --- You should never let Earl drive. . . ...
