What a lot of people don't realize is that when shit like this happens, the last thing the victim usually wants is for it to go public. You don't immediately come out and say "I AM DISAVOWING ALL TIES AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH X PERSON BECAUSE OF THEIR ABUSE OF Y PERSON". That's just poor form and incredibly insensitive.
