Yep. There was some confusion as early dinosaur research painted them as reptiles. "Tyrannosaurus" itself literally means Tyrant Lizard. This itself was mostly assumptions based on how their egg laying habits were similar to reptiles as opposed to the bird nests we're familiar with.

But it turns out we were super wrong about all that and they're actually birds. The Cassowary is the closest thing to what a dinosaur would have actually looked like:

Did you know it's actually kinda hard to just find straight up footage of cassowaries that aren't heavily edited with documentary audio?

weren't the theropods more closely related to birds? even their feet are like giant chicken feet. The t rex for sure. Maybe the sauropods were more closely related to crocodiles or something
