It's clear that making 9/11 joke at this point is the wrong response lol They probably thought Americans would be offended by the joke, but they are unaware of the different views between them and the Americans. Japanese still treat the nuclear bombing as a very important historical event that must be respected and remembered, while Americans basically have let the 9/11 memories go a long time ago. I mean in contrast, the bombings in Japan were pretty much the end of Japanese culture. They are pretty much controlled by other countries now, even if it isnt official. USA basically wrote a new constitution for them and put a ton of barriers of ehat they can and cant do. 9/11 was bad but America didnt get taken over and we didnt lose our identity.
