I Know What You Did Last Summer series beated - movies & the 1-season show

movie 1 is a decent flick, feels original for the time, creepy, oh hey jennifer love hewitt & sarah michelle gellar... and freddie prince jr wait did they just get a lot of people known by 3 names because the movie has a long title. the latter though was weirdly shafted and thinking back I still don't even really understand what he was doing

movie 2 was immediately stupid like everything about the plot was ridiculous and made me feel oh wow they really shouldn't have tried continuing The Fisherman - but it's not entirely unenjoyable. just accept the stupidity and it's an alright slasher, definitely upped the gore from the first. the twist is reallllly ridiculous but yeah that's the whole movie and it's kind of fun how dumb it is

movie 3 what the fuck, it's like a complete hack recreation of the first but done absolutely terribly and it feels so generic and bad. replace the first movie's summer incident with...... scaring a guy to skateboard off a building and die lmfao I was literally laughing when he went off the building and somehow nobody understands that meant he just died until a few minutes later. also I'm not one to care about technical aspects of the film but wtf why does this movie up the blue tint and film grain throughout the entire film and it makes it look like every scene is a flashback or something. ending also makes the 2nd look smart, they do the thing with the obvious red herring guy (kind of do it twice but first with someone that really never left an impression anyways and second with the traditional "oh they want me to suspect him" guy).... but then the real killer is revealed and HOLY SHIT how did they just completely jump the shark for this???

TV series is pretty cool. Feels like your pretty typical Scream-inspired high school murder mystery like the original was anyways, like Scream and uh Riverdale I guess, but with the I Know What You Did Last Summer gimmick of the protagonist (and friends) doing something shitty... and now with a bit more of the twist of the protagonist doing just a bit more. I cools off towards the end with a pretty cliched penultimate before coming to the finale that throws everything at the wall - and it kind of goes so crazy that I start off thinking this is really stupid but as it finally concludes.... wait a second this is kind of really perfect. There's still a whole lot that doesn't really make any sense and oh wow they REALLY made everyone look insane but I kind of love this ending. I know it was cancelled for a s2 but I'm curious how it would've panned out... because it definitely sets up for another "I Know What You Did Last Summer" threat but then how the fuck do the remaining characters go threw with it again?? Scream TV season 2 kind of had this with a primary character having a massive reveal at the end of s1 but then s2 kind of downplays it a lot which this show absolutely couldn't brush off.

anyways just finding out there was a s5 of Slasher this year guess I gotta watch that
