Topic | Texas man tracks down alleged truck thief and holds him at gunpoint.. |
streamofthesky 07/29/23 1:07:27 PM #207: | Torgo posted... These situations are alike in one way because you have a so-called vigilante acting with what they thought were justified reasons to shoot to kill.In this case, the vigilante didn't shoot until he was being shot at (again, if his claims are true). Using lethal force to defend against lethal force is completely justified. Mind you, I don't own guns and want gun control measures passed. But expecting someone literally being shot at to not shoot back is ridiculous. Also again...was the vigilantism right in the first place? actually fucking matters a lot. If this guy did steal his truck, I'm fine w/ him pursuing after him. He was actually wronged and responded in a reasonable way. (again, the shooting came after, supposedly b/c the thief escalated it) Zimmerman was dead fucking wrong; Trayvon never committed any crimes in the first place. And HE is the one to shoot first against the other person. So no, I don't think the cases have any relevant cross-over at all, unless it turns out the truck owner lied. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
