NYC was once called Nieuw Amsterdam. Albany which is very old town, was called Beverwyck. We have an Amsterdam, and Rotterdam. Schenectady founded so Dorps could be Patroons. Please we have countless Kill, such as the Battenkill. A 'Kill' is a creek. Also, Washington Irving had a pen name of Diedrich Knickerbocker. Plus to this day will have a Tulip Festival.
